PA admits no voter fraud problem

This report notes that in the lawsuit filed against the State of Pennsylvania over its voter ID law, PA actually stipulated the following: There “have been no investigations or prosecutions of in-person voter fraud in Pennsylvania; and the parties do not have direct personal knowledge of any such investigations or prosecutions in other states.” Voter fraud has been the purported reason for instituting voter ID laws across the country. Up to now the facts above lack of substantive evidence to support this claim have been avoided by regressives with the usual smoke-screen rhetoric, since they "can't handle the truth." But now the State of PA openly admits it! And yet they will proceed with the lawsuit defending the policy. I can't wait to hear how they'll do it.

The real reason for voter ID laws was revealed by PA State GOP House Leader Mike Turzai when he said: "Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done.” The law will require State ID which will be provided free. Those currently without State ID are predominantly the poor, elderly and students, typical Democrat voters. By some accounts this is about 758,000 possible voters. Although the ID will be free the requirements to obtain it are not and for the above constituencies not easy to obtain.

If the Republican legislatures and Governors who passed these laws really were concerned about voter fraud and franchising the electorate they'd provide a system that made obtaining acceptable ID easy and affordable for the Democrat constituency that doesn't have them. That there is virtually no voter fraud and they are making the requirement most difficult for a particular segment of the public can be interpreted no other way but voter suppression by one with half a brain and not indoctrinated by lying and manipulative bastards, aka the regressives.
