Liberal monuments

What if conservatives had to walk by these monuments every day? You know these whining snowflakes would easily get offended, raise holy hell and suddenly get all politically correct.

Documentary by embedded reporter inside the racist camp

Enlightening footage and interviews with the racists from an embedded reporter inside their ranks. Especially heinous is the racist leader who justifies injuring and killing people with a car (20:00). If we don't nip this in the bud we're likely looking at another civil war started by these Nazis.

Some history on confederate statues

So why were they erected long after the Civil War?

"'Most of the people who were involved in erecting the monuments were not necessarily erecting a monument to the past,' said Jane Dailey, an associate professor of history at the University of Chicago. But were rather, erecting them toward a white supremacist future.'

"The most recent comprehensive study of Confederate statues and monuments across the country was published by the Southern Poverty Law Center last year. A look at this chart shows huge spikes in construction twice during the 20th century: in the early 1900s, and then again in the 1950s and 60s. Both were times of extreme civil rights tension.

"In the early 1900s, states were enacting Jim Crow laws to disenfranchise black Americans. In the middle part of the century, the civil rights movement pushed back against that segregation. James Grossman, the executive director of the American Historical Association, says that the increase in statues and monuments was clearly meant to send a message. 'These statues were meant to create legitimate garb for white supremacy,' Grossman said. 'Why would you put a statue of Robert E. Lee or Stonewall Jackson in 1948 in Baltimore?'"

Repugnantans are complict with Nazis

Exaggerated hyperbole to antagonize? Not in the least. In this article Feingold shows how the Repugnantan agenda accomplishes the same goals as the Nazis. Voter suppression, gerrymandering, mass incarceration, mass deportation: All effectively get rid of voters of color and enhance white supremacy. So while at least some Repugnantans voice opposition to the more glaring examples of  US Nazis, let's see them not only say but do something about their policy agenda which in fact supports and enables the Nazi agenda.

Dump cuts funding to groups fighting US Nazis

Yes they did. Obama instituted funding for groups that fight white supremacists and Dump cut it. Meanwhile funding was increased to fight Islamic terrorists despite the fact that homegrown white terrorists were "responsible for 73 percent of deadly terrorist attacks since Sept. 11 2001." Add this to Dump defending the racists of Charlottesville and come to your own conclusion.

Colbert on Dump losing friends

What, just because he's racist? Yes.

Maher's monologue

Funny coverage of the week's political news, especially Dump's defense of Nazis.

A thought on racism and white privilege

The myth of General Lee

From this article:

"But even if one conceded Lee’s military prowess, he would still be responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans in defense of the South’s authority to own millions of human beings as property because they are black. Lee’s elevation is a key part of a 150-year-old propaganda campaign designed to erase slavery as the cause of the war and whitewash the Confederate cause as a noble one. That ideology is known as the Lost Cause, and as historian David Blight writes, it provided a 'foundation on which Southerners built the Jim Crow system.'”

Yeah, let's preserve that 'culture.' Not!

Freemasonry and fascism

As a former Freemason I can assure you it was anti-fascist and anti-authoritarian. It was mostly about the Enlightenment value of rationality, as well as utilizing mythical symbolism and ritual to induce individual enlightenment. It was a key instigator in both the American and French revolutions. Nazis in fact persecuted and executed Freemasons as being antithetical to their hideous agenda.

Btw, a free copy of Pike's seminal book on the Scottish Rite can be found here. The blasphemous dedication reads:

"LUCIFER, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darknesss! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual or selfish Souls ? Doubt it not!"

Another seminal tome is Manly Hall's The Secret Teachings of All Ages

RIP Russ Volckmann

I read with sadness of the death of Russ here. I did not know him personally. We had a few brief email exchanges over the years about some of the Integral Leadership Review content. But I sure was an avid reader of the review. I especially enjoyed his 12-part discussion series with Mark Edwards. It was, and hopefully under new leadership will remain, a significant contribution to the syntegral community. RIP buddy.

The Supreme Court is clear on Charlottesville

"The Supreme Court has held that advocacy of the use of force is unprotected when it is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action' and is 'likely to incite or produce such action.'"

Nazis carrying guns and other weapons and chanting inflammatory racist remarks is not protected speech.

This isn't about a statue

Washington & Jefferson respond to Lee comparison

SNL: Tina Fey on Charlottesville

On last night's Weekend Update summer edition. Accurate and hilariously funny commentary.

Integral impotence

In this FB IPS thread I asked: So are we supposed to be tolerant of neo-Nazis, give them a fair shake in dialogue? I got a few responses from 'integral' practitioners that said we must accept their voices, otherwise we are censoring free speech and denying them the right to their views. One quoted Wilber as saying "everyone is right" at least partially to justify this. It's sad to see this sort of rationalization of integral theory enabling fascism.

Speaking of Wilber, I'm reminded of what he said in One Taste about communism and fascism, the extremes of liberalism and conservatism. As to the latter: "Extreme conservatism, ending in fascism, [is] also enforced with terror. [...] Fascism [...] kills the bottom to feed the top. And as it works hard for a growth toward the superman, the gas chambers await those who are rightly or wrongly (always wrongly) perceived to be subhuman" (310).

I'm also reminded of Mark Edwards' comment on climate change here, equally applicable to this topic:

John Dickerson on the difference between Washington & Lee

He refutes the false equivalence Dump made in order to justify racism (around 3:45). It's a variation of what Colbert humorously said in the last post's video, but with historical and rational justification, things sorely missing from anything that comes out of Dump's mouth or Tweets.

Colbert on Dump defending the Confederacy

Recall the Civil War as all about fighting slavery on one side and defending it on the other. And we are to retain the 'culture' of slavery? Seriously? I suppose Germany is suppose to retain the 'culture' of killing Jews?  I think absolutely not in both cases.

Senator Corker on Dump's incompetence & instability

Yes, even this prominent Repugnantan is waking up to reality. He questions that Dump has the competence and stability required of a President.

Dump is "politically inept, morally barren and temperamentally unfit for office"

So says this article in The Economist. Even Repugnanatans are finally coming around to this inescapable conclusion. Took them long enough. Although I disagree with the statement that Dump is not a white supremacist because he spoke out against them. That statement was only meant to appease the criticism and not in the least genuine.

Both sides in the zombie apocalypse

Colbert: Dump is racist grandpa

Even Faux Snooze couldn't get any Repugnantans to defend Dump

And they tried hard to be fair but not one Repugnantan would come on this show to defend Dump's insane press conference with the false equivalency of 'both sides' are guilty.

The paradox of tolerance

Continuing the last 2 posts, see this wiki on Karl Popper's decision theory paradox and other notes on the topic. No performative contradiction here. No performative contradiction here. A clip:

"The paradox of tolerance, first described by Karl Popper in 1945, is a decision theory paradox. The paradox states that if a society is tolerant without limit, their ability to be tolerant will eventually be seized or destroyed by the intolerant. Popper came to the seemingly paradoxical conclusion that in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance."

Democracy Now also interviews Mark Bray

Here. Also of note is that some of the German people were involved in the anti-fascist resistance to the Nazis. Bray gives some history of the movement and puts Charlottesville in context. Fascism isn't just an end product of a regime but starts in places like Charlottesville with such armed demonstrations. It is then fed by government like we're seeing with Dump. Hence Antifa is dedicated to meeting any expression of fascism when it arises, to nip it in the bud.

"When Hitler first attended his first meeting of the German Workers’ Party, which he later transformed into the Nazi Party, they had 54 members. So, we need to see that there’s always a potential for small movements to become large. And one of the other lessons of the beginning of the 20th century is that people did not take fascism and Nazism seriously until it was too late. That mistake will never be made again by anti-fascists, who will recognize that any manifestation of these politics is dangerous and needs to be confronted as if it could be the nucleus of some sort of deadly movement or regime of the future."

Hartmann interviews Antifa activist Mark Bray

It means anti-fascist and arose in response to fascist regimes. It realizes that fascists aren't going to respond to reason and will use only violence to obtain their ends. Antifa therefore realized they'd have to fight fire with fire to stop fascism. Like when we went to war with Germany to stop the Nazis from exterminating the Jews and invading countries left and right. A war was necessary. So today's Nazis and racists come to rallies armed and intending to be violent and they are. Antifa comes to counter that violence and protect peaceful protestors from that violence. They are not in any way two sides of a coin, a false equivalence. It's like the old TV series Kung Fu: Kaine is peaceful but sometimes he has to kick ass against violent people who bully others.

Republican Gianno Caldwell denounces Dump

On Fox and Friends Caldwell is fed the talking point about Dump's "both sides" comment and he said in part: "The very moral fabric in which we’ve made progress when it comes to race relations in America? He’s failed us, and it’s very unfortunate that our president would say things like he did in that press conference yesterday when he says, ‘There are good people on the side of the Nazis. They weren’t all Nazis and they weren’t all white supremacists.’ Mr. President, good people don’t pal around with Nazis and white supremacists. Maybe they don’t consider themselves white supremacists and Nazis, but certainly they hold those views."

Remember this Antifa?

Antifa stands for anti-fascist and yes, they sometimes use violence to oppose fascism. But that doesn't make them equally responsible for the problem of fascism. Remember this Antifa force that fought the Nazis?

Fact check on alt-left and alt-right violence

Dump is right that there was some so-called alt-left violence at Charlottesville. But the case that those on the left are equally to blame is patently false. The alt-right came there armed, locked and loaded and ready to be violent. The alt-left came there to confront racism and prevent the alt-right from getting out of control. Plus there are of course facts on the proportion of violence of the two sides. That is, if you accept facts, which show that both sides are not equally responsible. For example:

"White nationalists; militia movements; anti-Muslim attackers; I.R.S. building and abortion clinic bombers; and other right-wing groups were responsible for 12 times as many fatalities and 36 times as many injuries as communists; socialists; animal rights and environmental activists; anti-white- and Black Lives Matter-inspired attackers; and other left-wing groups."

Carpool karaoke with Alicia Keys and John Legend

This is just a tease preview. Seems the series is now only pay per view on Apple music. Come on James, WTF?

Angelica Hale

Another youngster with incredible talent on AGT last night. Moving rendition of the song with impeccable tone. And those high notes!

Darci Lynne hits another home run on AGT

She does it again.

Kimmel's plea to Dumpsters

Something tells me they don't watch your show, but good try.

Colbert on Dump's reversal

He starts by pointing out that Dump's claim to want the facts before making a statement is ludicrous, since he's never done that before. He then gets to Dump going back to his crazy contention that 'both sides' were responsible for Charlottesville.

KKK thanks Dump for the turnaround

After Dump denounced the KKK and neo-Nazis yesterday, today he went on a crazy rant against the so-called violent liberals in Charlottesville. David Duke of the KKK thanked Dump for this, and Richard Spencer, Nazi leader, thought Dump's denunciation of his ilk was just for show. Good job PresiDunce; you kept your base and incited them further.

Meyers on crazy Dump

Meyers is shell-shocked, as is Dump's own Chief of State, on Dump's crazy press conference today.

Thunder by Imagine Dragons

From their latest release. I especially like the dancing in the video by the professional dancers, not the singer.

Olbermann on Charlottesville

I really enjoy Olbermann, who speaks his mind strongly and authentically without hesitation. "Donald Trump is for all intents and purposes a sympathizer, and apologist, and practically an accessory after the fact to neo-Nazi domestic terrorism." Can't argue with that true statement.

Photos of armed white racists beating unarmed black man

See the story and photos here. No, this was not happening on both sides Dumpy the PresiDunce.

Jamie Rahn on ANW

The only other finisher of the night but he had a much tougher time of it than Moravsky.

Joe Moravsky on ANW

Only 1 of 2 to complete the Cleveland city finals on this way to the nationals in Las Vegas.

Dassy & Fikshun

My 2nd fav of the evening, an interesting Bollywood number. There's something about Indian music and dance that really resonates with me.

Koine & Marco on SYTYCD

My favorite routine of the evening, a very innovative and excellently performed African jazz piece to some awesome voice percussion: Speaking in Tongues II by Sheila Chandra.

Meyers on Charlottsville

In addition to the points of other commentators, Meyers goes into how the Repugnantans have been complicit in racism all along. And there is of course all the racists in Dump's team.

Dump is quick to condemn everyone else

So why not Nazis? Answer: they gave him the PresiDuncy.

Colbert on Charlottesville

Colbert gives Dump the spanking he deserves. Too bad we can't give Dump a permanent time-out from the PresiDuncy.

Fallon on Charlottesville

He's shames the PresiDunce for taking 2 days to denounce what is clearly wrong. Unfortunately the Dump and his Dumpsters have no shame, which requires some humanity as prerequisite.

Dynamic systems don't need God

I was just re-reading an excerpt of Bryant's updated paper "Time of the Object" in this Ning thread and relevant to my syntegral orientation. The quote:

"Derrida argues that we must abandon the thesis that the synthesis of time is accomplished by a preexistent transcendental identity or unity that affects the synthesis of traces of the past. Rather, we must see the unity and identity of the substance as arising from the interplay of these traces and differences themselves. The substantiality of substance must, like Whitehead’s 'societies,' be seen as that which perpetually produces itself from itself without a homunculus presiding over the synthesis of these differences. In this regard, the substantiality of substance, its identity and unity, would not be an identity and unity that precedes this synthesis, but would be the very activity of synthesis itself. It is precisely an account of a decentralized process of synthesis in autopoietic and allopoietic machines that Luhmann gives us" (90).

To paraphrase Treasure of the Sierra Madre: "We don't need no stinking deities."

Dump caves under pressure, finally calls out racism

He finally said it this morning. But who still believes him? Oh yeah, the racists still do and think this is just a statement for political show. And they are right, of course. Hopefully at least a few of these cretins think Dump is betraying them and won't vote for him again.

Very good question

Chancellor Merkel condemns Charlottesville racists

This is how a real world leader responds:

"The scenes at the right-wing extremist march were absolutely repulsive—naked racism, anti-Semitism and hate in their most evil form were on display. Such images and chants are disgusting wherever they may be and they are diametrically opposed to the political goals of the chancellor and the entire German government."

The degrees of racism

And those expressions we consider acceptable?

Dump incites violence

And yet his press secretary denies it? We have countless examples right out of the horse's ass.

John Oliver on Dump's race baiting

Which directly led to Neo-Nazi's marching in Charlottesville.

Donnie Deutsch: Dump is a racist

Of course he's stating the obvious: "What a pathetic, sniveling little man our President is. A coward. [...] We have a racist as a President."

CEO of Merck criticizes Dump and resigns

From the American Manufacturing Council. He felt it necessary because Dump refused to criticize the white racists responsible for Charlottesville. While Dump still hasn't done so he was quick to jump on the CEO for challenging him. Sieg Heil to the Chief Dump, eh?

Other Repugnantans have more guts that Dump

At 7:00 in this clip of Meet the Press Todd discusses some of the Repugnantans that had the courage to speak out and call racism for what it is, unlike Dump. At 12:00 the panel discusses this irresponsible and moral cowardice.

Mayor of Charlottesville on Meet the Press

In this clip (around 2:00) he blames the Dump campaign for deliberately inciting this racist base to come out of the shadows and feel empowered. And he feels the PresiDunce has the responsibility to put the genie back in the bottle. But we know that it is something Dump will never do, as these are the very people that won him the Blight House.

Senator Graham on Dump's failure to call out Neo-Nazis

There is no disputing that the rally in Charlottesville was led by white racists. And said racists were violent terrorists. So many are criticizing Dump for not even mentioning their racist orientation or their terrorist behavior, largely because they support Dump. Sen. Graham is among those Republicans calling on Dumpy the Dunce to condemn them in no uncertain terms instead of giving them a pass.

Google censoring progressive websites

Google is using a bogus algorithm to censor 'extreme' sites on both the left and right. However it is based on the false equivalency that so-called extremes of liberal and conservative are both inaccurate or biased. No, the extreme conservative sites are full of lies, fake news and misdirection. The so-called extreme liberal side is true progressives that base their news on facts, science and reality. So Google is basically censoring real news because it is the opposite of fake news, both being equally 'biased.' WTF, really.

Colbert on Dump TV

A small taste of Gidley to whet the appetite

From this Ning IPS post:

"For Gebser, integral-aperspectival consciousness is not experienced through expanded
consciousness, more systematic conceptualizations, or greater quantities of perspectives. In his
view, such approaches largely represent over-extended, rational characteristics. Rather, it
involves an actual re-experiencing, re-embodying, and conscious re-integration of the living
vitality of magic-interweaving, the imagination at the heart of mythic-feeling and the
purposefulness of mental conceptual thinking, their presence raised to a higher resonance, in
order for the integral transparency to shine through" (111).

Gidley, J. (2007). "The evolution of consciousness as a planetary imperative." In Integral Review 5.

Yeheshua and the Golden Dawn

Continuing the last post, from the Golden Dawn Adeptus Minor ritual. The GD was formed by Freemasons.

"The Keyword is I. N. R. I. which is inscribed with its correspondences upon this complete symbol of the Rose and Cross which I bear upon my breast. 'These letters have been occasionally used as the initials of the following sentences: JESUS NAZARENUS REX JUDECORUM, whence it symbolizes the Grand Word of this Grade which is YEHESHUAH or the Hebrew Name of Jesus, formed of the Holy letter Shin, representing the Ruach Elohim, placed within the Center of the Name Tetragrammaton. Also it has been interpreted as: Igne Natura Renovatur Integra, Igne Natura Reliovando Integrat, Igne Nitrum Roris Invenitur; Intra Nobis Regnum dei."

Basically, the name Yeheshuah (aka Jesus) indicates spirit tempering and integrating the four elements of fire, water, air and earth, aka the elements of human nature: will, emotions, intellect and physical body. As Tiphareth on the Tree of Life it also represents the mediation between the heavenly forces above (gods and goddesses if you will, or archetypes if you won't) and earth below, aka one's holy guardian angel.

Why Catholics can't be Freemasons

As a former Freemason I concur with this article, an excerpt below. Btw, I also enjoy a 'liberal' Catholic church service. The liberal Catholics are much more like Freemasonry, as are the independent Catholics. I have attended this church in the past.

"What Clement XII described in his original denunciation was not a revolutionary republican society but a group spreading and enforcing religious indifferentism: the belief that all religions (and none) are of equal worth, and that in Masonry all are united in service to a higher, unifying understanding of virtue."

The price of academia

This is a significant reason I abandoned academia and instead prefer the social media outlets for disseminating ideas. It reaches so many other people if we can but parse the ideas in easily understandable terms rather than technical academic or philosophical jargon for our microtribe. This is in fact what Wilber did to reach a larger audience for his integral endeavor.  As did Trump. We'd do well to follow their lead.

"In the social sciences, most of these texts are jargon-ridden, formulaic and incomprehensible to anyone other than to tiny microtribes of subject experts. The vast majority have virtually no social relevance at all. Only a handful of specialists are ever going to read or cite any of them."

Charlottesville is merely prelude

Continuing this post, just imagine what these white racists will do when Dump is impeached. Dump is in fact inciting this sort of behavior and it came to a head in Charlottesville, the racists violently protesting the removal of an iconic slavery statue. And then Dump let's them off the hook, claiming false equivalency on all sides and  thereby sending a clear message that their violence is not only acceptable but encouraged. If they get this violent over a statue we can only imagine what's coming when Dump and his Dumpsters are removed from office. And Faux Snooze will be leading the charge.

Vietnam Song

This song popped into my head today. Here's Country Joe and the Fish performing it at Woodstock.

Archival enzymes for syntegral digestion

Continuing this post, I've found a way to market my skills for the syntegral movement. Ning IPS forum contains thousands of pages of investigation and discussion on sundry topics of interest. But most are daunted by the enormity of its archive that they easily get lost when searching for specific information relevant to their inquiry of the moment. As the archivist I could interject relevant posts and pages of existing material in easily digestible small doses to facilitate your investigations. And unlike plant enzymes being useless for human digestion, my archival enzymes aid in digesting the material. Buy now, hurry, while offers last.

Maher interviews Dawkins

Dawkins wants to rescue the term 'soul' from religion. He is sure we have one, but it expresses in our wonder and awe and things of beauty or grandiosity. That's it. No supernatural thing that continues to personally exist when we die. I wish they had spent more time elaborating on that but the rest of the interview is debunking religious nonsense, as well as criticizing the snowflake left for stifling free speech.

Maher on Dumpy Repugnantans becoming the Troll Party

Their Party, including their coward leader, for so long has become nothing more than trolling good progressive ideas that they've lost any sense of purpose or agenda beyond what they're against. And they really don't give one shit about who or what is harmed, possibly irreparably, in the process.

Maher's monologue

He humorously covers that week's political news, especially the stand off between Fat Man and Little Boy.

Fox hostess promises 'uprising' if Swamp indictments

Yes, she said it. What she means is up for debate. But not really, as we know exactly what she means.

Raw food enzyme myth

There's a belief going around that plant enzymes aid in human digestion. But it has zero basis in scientific fact. All the scientific articles I looked at agree that plant enzymes have nothing to do with human digestion. Most of the diet faddist articles disagree but they're not based on this evidence. I'd provide a list of scientific sources to back this claim but people are going to believe what they want to anyway. Check the research yourself. But like plant enzymes and digestion, we all know that scientific fact often has no effect on strong belief systems. E.g., look who is in the Blight House.

Why we fell for clean eating

A well researched and written Guardian article on the "clean eating" fad, it's benefits and hazards. E.g.:

"But it quickly became clear that 'clean eating' was more than a diet; it was a belief system, which propagated the idea that the way most people eat is not simply fattening, but impure. [...] By 2015, Nigella Lawson was speaking for many when she expressed 'disgust' at clean eating as a judgmental form of body fascism. [...] Clean eating has been attacked by critics such as the baker and cookbook author Ruby Tandoh (who wrote a much-shared article on the subject in Vice magazine in May 2016) for being an incitement to eating disorders."

"When Dr Giles Yeo, a geneticist at the University of Cambridge, presented an episode of the BBC’s Horizon this year that examined the scientific evidence for different schools of clean eating, he found everything from innocuous recipes to serious malpractice. [...] Hadley Freeman, in this paper, identified clean eating as part of a post-truth culture, whose adherents are impervious, or even hostile, to facts and experts."

"Giles Yeo – who spent some time cooking a spicy sweet-potato dish with Ella Mills for his BBC programme – agrees that many of the clean eating recipes he tried are actually 'a tasty and cool way to cook vegetables'. But why, Yeo asks, do these authors not simply say 'I am publishing a very good vegetarian cookbook' and stop there, instead of making larger claims about the power of vegetables to beautify or prevent disease? 'The poison comes from the fact that they are wrapping the whole thing up in pseudoscience,' Yeo says. 'If you base something on falsehoods, it empowers people to take extreme actions, and this is where the harm begins.'”

More facts on US corp tax rates

This recent article shows that despite the statutory tax rate the US effective corp tax rate is more like 18%. And even that is misleading, since the US has a larger GDP than many of the countries on the list. The US rate is only 2.2% of GDP while the OECD average is 2.8%. And then of course there are the loopholes discussed earlier, that give some corps a complete tax break.

The truth about US corporate tax rates

As usual the Repugnantans lie about this. True, the statutory rate is 35%, but no corporation pays that. With the Repugnantan loopholes the actual effective rate is more around half that. And that's an average, with some mega-corps either paying no taxes or getting a rebate!

SNL Weekend Update Summer Edition

Kicked of last night on NBC. The following is one clip, an interview with Bill Hader as "The Mooch."

Dump frightens Colbert

And the rest of humanity with a functioning brain.

Let's get it on

Good rant by Mark Schmanko in this FB post. Evocatively parsed in poetic rhetoric. One thing though. The alternatives don't just reside in pre-Socratic or pre-modern expressions. The collaborative commons is already beginning to replace that Higher Selfish (post)modern fixation as the prime directive. Rifkin and the P2P Foundation are doing a great job in documenting this movement well underway. Instead of "leave me alone" its motto might be more like "let's get it on."
Which, btw, is also expressing in how we re-frame Enlightenment itself, both east and west (pp. 85-92).

FBI raids Manafort with no knock warrant

Colbert comments on how the FBI doesn't trust Manafort to produce documents and information related to his involvement in the Russia collusion investigation. I so hope there's a shitload of evidence that implicates both Manafort and Dump and we can get on with prosecuting this criminal cabal.

Colbert on Dunce's nuclear threat

He shows that Dunce loves that expression "the likes of which this world has never been seen before," applying it to just about everything. One thing is true: He is a PresiDunce the likes of which we have never seen before in the US. And hopefully we never see again.

Preacher said God authorizes Dump to nuke North Korea

Jesus fucking Christ! This guy, as well as Dump himself, are just as insane as the North Korean leader. And Dump can order a nuclear strike on his own Presidential authority. Congress needs to act fast to take away this legal authority. Then they need to impeach this monster.

The Progressive Coalition

Good interview with Progressive Independent Party (PIP) founder and director, Araquel Bloss, about building a progressive coalition with other progressive groups. Such a coalition will organize together around progressive ideas and candidates. PIP has partnered with the Draft Bernie and Socialist Alternative to host the 2nd annual People’s Convergence Conference in D.C., September 8th-10th. Speakers at the conference include Dr. Cornel West, Seattle City Councilwoman Kashama Sawant, Standing Rock activist/attorney Chase Iron Eyes, Redacted Tonight host Lee Camp, TYT Journalist Jordan Chariton, and many others.

Salt Lake's Mayor went homeless for 3 days

And the experience made him more compassionate and determined to help them. Seems one has to walk in an other's shoes to understand their plight. Now Salt Lake City has reduced homelessness by 90%. And of course he was a progressive Democrat, the kind that represent the true teachings of Jesus even if they're not Christian.

Continuing the last post, the video also related this universal self-organization to Buddhist emptiness. I said something similar in this post and following regarding the symbols therein:

So in terms of hier(an)archy, the object a as embodied image schema 'in the middle' is the networked interactions of the particular and the general. It appears as a hole or absence in such diagrams but it's not nothing. Like Emptiness it is the transcendental interrelations of dependent origination, not some outside or transcendent force and ground. This doesn't negate hierarchy per se, just contextualizes it with the middle ground as that which transcendentalizes the apparent transcendent and abstract top/bottom on a vertical ladder via formal, metaphysical reason. The top/bottom curve back on themselves, infolding back into the middle, while the middle curves out to enfold and relate the top/bottom. Hier(an)archy indeed.

The universe is a bottom-up dynamic system

I've been saying what's in this video since forever, but it's a message not received by those heavily invested in dogmatic kennilingus. They are convinced that things must be organized by the top-down AQAL model, one claiming to be post-postmodern but based in this very modernist tenet. This requires individuals and organizations to buy its operating system either through salespeople or university programming. That is their main source of income so its a feedback loop back into the ideology, another modernist tenet expressed in capitalism, conscious or otherwise.

The collaborative commons has been emerging just like the dynamic system described in the video, from the bottom up and the middle out. There is no top-down involutionary given guiding the path of evolution back up toward Spirit, even in the insipid form of a morphogenetic groove. It has much more to do with sharing of resources than selling them for profit. And it is the actual form of a post-postmodernism, or metamodernism, than kennilingus pretensions to the contrary.

In a word: hier(an)archy is the process of dynamic systems.

From intersubjectivity to interbeing

I was reminded today of this seminal paper by Evan Thompson with the above title. The premise:

"Human consciousness is not located in the head, but is immanent in the living body and the interpersonal social world. One’s consciousness of oneself as an embodied individual embedded in the world emerges through empathic cognition of others. Consciousness is not some peculiar qualitative aspect of private mental states, nor a property of the brain inside the skull; it is a relational mode of being of the whole person embedded in the natural environment and the human social world."

Great run, all the way to the final obstacle where she just couldn't make it. She's on to the national finals in Las Vegas.

Vice Presidunce on the 'theory' of evolution

And this guy will be the Presidunce once Dump is dumped. Prepare for same kind of theocracy the conservatives are always fearing from those Muslims but from homegrown Amurkans.

Kim Jong-Un Responds to Dump

Colbert makes light of the situation.

Eva Igo in WOD finals

This is the highest scoring performance of the night. Unfortunately, her combined score averages were 0.2 points lower than Les Twins, the latter winning the competition. This young artist has a very bright future in dance.

Colbert on the banning of "climate change" in the Swamp

Continuing this post, Colbert comments on the Newspeak reframing of reality.

Colbert on N. Korea threats and Dump's nuclear holocaust

True, North Korea is threatening the US with war. So Dump, calm statesman that he is, eases our fears of nuclear retaliation. Not!

US Dept. of Agriculture banned from using "climate change"

Continuing this post, it's amazing that Dump and his Swamp are trying to hide the reality of climate change by simply denying its existence. And not just denying it but suppressing even its mention by government scientists. The novel 1984 has some to pass and it's frightening and disturbing. Fascism is not far off if we the people don't get off our asses and do something, like replacing these bastards in office. See the link for other banned expressions of reality.

The most honest 3 minutes in TV history

An oldie but goodie I just came upon again today.

Dump threatens nuclear war with North Korea

Great, now our dictator will be getting into a nuclear exchange with their dictator "unlike anything the world has ever seen." WTF!

Koine & Marko

Koine, one of my favs this season, makes it into the top 10 with this stunning performance.

Jenna & Kiki

Very hot cha cha last night on SYTYCD. She choose Kiki over Kevin, thankfully, as Kevin really wasn't that good. Kiki makes it into the top 10.

Scientists leak draft report on global heating

Scientists from 13 federal agencies decided to leak this report to the NY Times before Dump Swamp could suppress it. We've come to this, where scientists feel a need to leak scientific findings due to a regressive government antithetical to science. Of course Dump will call it fake news. But the findings themselves confirm what climate scientists have knows all along: the planet is heating up and fast directly due to human intervention. The Dump Swamp are paid liars for fossil fuel companies and really don't give a damn about the human and environmental consequences.

Curcumin and Alzheimer's

Continuing this post, here's an excerpt from the abstract from a Journal of Alzheimer's Disease recent article:

"We summarize the in vivo and in vitro research describing the mechanisms of action in which curcumin modifies AD pathology: curcumin inhibits the formation and promotes the disaggregation of amyloid-β plaques, attenuates the hyperphosphorylation of tau and enhances its clearance, binds copper, lowers cholesterol, modifies microglial activity, inhibits acetylcholinesterase, mediates the insulin signaling pathway, and is an antioxidant. In conclusion, curcumin has the potential to be more efficacious than current treatments. However, its usefulness as a therapeutic agent may be hindered by its low bioavailability. If the challenge of low bioavailability is overcome, curcumin-based medications for AD may be in the horizon."

Colbert: Pence is preparing for a coup

Ok, not a military coup, just preparing to run for President in 2020. Pence already has a PAC, a telling indication given that no VP has ever done that this early in a term.

Dump's vacation slides

Some Swampers threaten civil war if Dump prosecuted

Continuing the last post, see this FB response to those that threaten civil war.

Dump is preparing his followers for armed revolt

This article doesn't go that far but I will. What the article does say is that Dump is telling his Swamp that the Russia investigation, as well as the intelligence community and the media, is fake news in retaliation for him winning the election. And they whoop and holler and believe him. At the very least he is destroying faith in facts and accountability. But given his cries for violence at rallies, and telling policy officers to abuse their suspects, inciting riots if he's charged and convicted cannot be far behind.

Curcumin and inflammation

This search for "curcumin inflammation" on the National Institute of Heath site provided 1162 results, many quite recent. E.g. an excerpt from the abstract. J. Food Sci. 2017 Aug 3 follows. The entire article can be read here.

"Numerous studies have shown that curcumin modulate multiple molecular targets and can be translated to the clinics for multiple therapeutic processes. There is compelling evidence that curcumin can block cell proliferation, invasion, and angiogenesis as well as reduced the prolonged survival of cancer cells. Curcumin mediates anti-inflammatory effect through downregulation of inflammatory cytokines, transcription factors, protein kinases, and enzymes that promote inflammation and development of chronic diseases."

Meat eating and human brain evolution

Continuing this post, here are some scientific articles on meat-eating and the evolution of the human brain. While we can't reduce consciousness to the brain it seems a bigger and more complex brain, one more evolved, is prerequisite for so-called 'higher' consciousness.

This article said: "There is no doubt that human evolution has been linked to meat in many fundamental ways. Our digestive tract is not one of obligatory herbivores; our enzymes evolved to digest meat whose consumption aided higher encephalization and better physical growth. Cooperative hunting promoted the development of language and socialization. [...] Killing animals and eating meat have been significant components of human evolution that had a synergistic relationship with other key attributes that have made us human, with larger brains, smaller guts, bipedalism and language. Larger brains benefited from consuming high-quality proteins in meat-containing diets, and, in turn, hunting and killing of large animals, butchering of carcasses and sharing of meat have inevitably contributed to the evolution of human intelligence in general and to the development of language and of capacities for planning, cooperation and socializing in particular."

Another article on human evolution and meat eating:

Fake Christians say the poor are lazy

Yep, it's that simple in their feeble minds according to a new poll. If they're poor they're lazy and don't deserve to eat. Never mind that Jesus never said any such thing, ever. To the contrary Jesus was all about helping the poor in any way he could. Fake Christians are what these hypocrites are.

Yet another Faux employee sexually harasses

It's the culture there. Men on hierarchically superior to women and it's ok to sexually harass them. They are after all our property to be objectified, right? But it isn't ok, as yet another one pays for it with a suspension.

Swampers think there is anti-white bias

Again, no evidence to support this. Yes, they are being played like fiddles by the oligarchs, Dump included. The oligarchs are just anti-everyone not in their financial bracket, siphoning all the wealth out of the economy and giving it to themselves. So yes, the ignorant white guy is being screwed, but they are also being manipulated by the oligarchs to think it's because all those minorities are getting the benefits. No sense showing that minorities are getting screwed even worse. Or that the real cause of there problems is the likes of Dump and his ilk.

Another Swamper denies the reality of sea rise

And it's happening right before his very eyes. You can't argue with someone who denies reality. And Dump called him to assure him that reality is fake news.

Dump takes credit for economy he didn't create

Not surprising, since he has not signed any Congressional legislation to help the economy. I guess Dump's mere machismo magically instills confidence in the economy? Not!

Buddist monk diet

I'm wondering what those engaged in higher consciousness practices eat. I know, what constitutes 'higher' consciousness is up for debate. We've used Buddhist monks as one example that might represent this category, given their adroit meditative discipline. So let's look at the Tibetan Buddhist diet. We can also see here that different Buddhist sects have different takes on it, some even eating meat. There appear to be some similarities across sects, but with variations. Again, we do not find one universal agreement on all aspects of diet. Same holds true on the issue of what constitutes 'higher' consciousness.

Psychological profile of Dump Swampers

The five traits they have in common follow. See below for the details.

1. Authoritarian personality disorder.
2. Social dominance orientation.
3. Prejudice.
4. In-group echo chamber.
5. Economic deprivation.

Hierarchy is a destructive force

Good video on how hierarchy is bad for our collective health. A good argument for the emerging collaborative commons versus destructive capitalism, which are based on the same premises. Hier(an)archy, however, is part of the latter.

A brief history of 45 US Presidents

43 white, one black and once clownish dunce. And not just an ordinary clownish dunce but the Biggest Dunce in US Presidential history.

Dimocrapic donors backing Kamala Harris

So of course progressives are skeptical and wondering why. So the establishment Dimocraps are again blaming progressives for being 'alt-left,' which in their minds in being radical. Please progressives like Sanders, Warren and Pocan: Fet the hell out of the corrupt Party and form a People's Party.

Yes Men prank the DNC

Continuing this post, The Yes Men's performance art activism is at it again, this time announcing a new Democratic strategy for winning elections: banning corporate money and actually listening to the public's opinion on policies. Naturally this highlights the stark differences with the DNC's pathetic Better Deal.

Maslow v. Max-Neef on human development

See this brief introductory article on the differences between these two researchers. Maslow's hierarchical of needs requires that lower needs be satisfied before higher needs can be developed. That turns out to not be empirically true. Also Maslow's capitalistic bias heavily favored how individuals developed without equally investigating how society influenced that development. Max-Neef sees the various needs as interrelated and interactive, in which some can indeed develop without others doing so; no hierarchical prerequisite is needed. The article attributes this to his socialist orientation versus Maslow's capitalistic bent. We see a similar difference between the work of Piaget and Vygotsky.

Dore interviews Thomas Frank

Frank starts by saying that the Dimocrap Party still will not accept his analysis of why they lost so many elections. He then discusses how media like the Washington Post, mouthpiece of the Dims, refuses to even broach certain topics like what Sanders promoted: single-payer healthcare, free college, renegotiating the trade deals, questioning globalization etc. You know, routine progressive ideas that the majority of Americans support. The Dim Party just won't hear it. Hence their so-called Better Deal is the same rehashed corporatism with empty promises that throws a few meatless bones to the masses. Just more reason for progressives to dump them.

Hartmann explains Obamacare risk corridors

Basically insurance companies had to take on bad risks which would cost losses, so the government agreed to pay them for their losses for a 10-year period. But Senator Cruz stuck a rider in a spending Bill that eliminated them, so that is why the companies had to raise their rates or pull out of the market.

Maher's monologue

He's back and funnier than ever. Topics include Dump's vacation, the dumpy Blight House, Dump's Boy Scout fiasco, Dump's lies about phone calls, Dump's racist immigration policy, Dump's lies about conversations with foreign leaders, Dump's idiocy. You know, the usual Dump shit.

Maher interviews Al Gore

They discuss Gore's new movie, An Inconvenient Sequel. They dispel the myth that China isn't doing anything about climate change and give the facts on just what they are indeed doing. They also dispel the other myths Repugnantans use. For example, solar is creating 17 times more jobs in the US than fossil fuels. And how the other countries of the Paris Accord are keeping resolute to implementing it despite the regressive US government.

New rule: What if Obama said it?

Maher shows the utter hypocrisy of Repugnantans by demonstrating how they would have reacted had Obama said the things Dump has said.

Dim Party backs Repugnantan over a progressive

It's true. The Dims are doing so in Florida's 26th district. The Dim candidate supports single-payer and the GOP incumbent voted to repeal and replace Obamacare. Just one more piece of evidence that the Dim Party is in cahoots not only with big money but now Repugnantans.

The different factions on the right

Interesting discussion with Hartmann and Bryan Pruitt, conservative contributor to Pruitt notes there are 3 factions on the right: establishment Repugnantans, true conservatives, and the base. The establishment faction is using Dump to implement their agenda. Core conservatives don't approve much of the establishment because they've abandoned core values like trimming government and its interference. The establishment rigs the system through said regulations to give big business the contracts while shutting out competitive small businesses. The core also believes in a social safety net to take care of the least of us, and this is obviously not the intent of the establishment. The base feels that both Parties have failed to give a damn about them, just seeing them as catering to the wealthy. Hence they went with an outsider hoping he would be different. Hence there is a chance Dump will spin off to a 3rd Party and the Dims will split apart into at least 2 distinct factions.

The entire Senate agreed to curtail PresiDump

Yes, the entire Senate had to agree to hold short 1-minute sessions every 3 days while on recess to prevent Dump from making recess appointments. And the entire Senate did agree, specifically to prevent Dump from firing AG Sessions and replacing him with a lackey who will fire the special prosecutor. That's amazing, that even the Senate Repugnantans agree that it would be bad for the country for that scenario to play out. Dump has done what no one could have ever done: unite the Senate!

Chelsea parodies Sarah Huckabee Sanders

The new Blight House press secretary. Funny.

Manchester by the Sea

I finally got a chance to view it last night for the first time. I've heard all the fanfare and accolades, what with with the Academy's nominations and all. And I was sorely disappointed. An irresponsible alcoholic kills his kids through drunken negligence and descends into hell where he belongs. At least he had the integrity to know he deserved his fate. Then this ne'er do well is to take on the responsibility of being guardian to his nephew?

I could not find any sympathy for this character and he didn't deserve it. And the nephew was in the same boat in that regard, a spoiled and abusive brat. Together they made for a repugnant relationship that got tired quickly. Instead of being enthralled by the plot as many have I got bored of them as I would if they were in my life. Only in life I'd just give up and quit hanging around them.

And we decide which is right and which is an illusion?

Continuing this post, notice how the Moody Blues phrase this as a question given that "cold-hearted orb that rules the night":

Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
And we decide which is right
And which is an illusion?

Putin breaks up the bromance with Dump

After the PresiDump was forced to sign the Congressional Bill sanctioning Russia or get his veto overrode. Putin responds:

Dump begged Mexico's President to lie

Colbert jokes about the leaked conversations between PresiDump and the President and Prime Minister of Mexico and Australia. Of course Dump lied about them, as he does with everything. And Swampers will think the truth is fake news and not believe it, as usual.

How illusions work

And how to make your brain work for you instead of being fooled by Dump's (and Russia's) lies by misdirection and controlling the frame (as Lakoff constantly reminds us).

CNN on the Russia grand jury & investigating Dump's financial ties

Special prosecutor Mueller not only impaneled a grand jury to issue subpoenas but is also looking into Dump's Russian financial ties. The Dump has warned repeatedly that the special prosecutor is forbidden from investigating the financial ties and he's doing it anyway. Will he be fired shortly, especially now that things are really picking up speed?

Mueller impanels a grand jury in the Russia probe

And the grand jury is issuing subpoenas over Con Jr.'s Russia meeting. Even Fox's judicial analyst below said this means there is a there there, meaning the FBI has got something of importance and wants subpoenas to get more. Things are heating up fast now.

Let's compare Dump and oBAMa again

This time on respect for the White House and the Presidency. We can see who is the real Dump here.

Olbermann: PresiSwamp threatens his own side

But the Biggest Swamp's only side is his family. Everyone in Congress and his own Administration has learned quickly to hate this Loser. And the Dump is not happy about it, threatening all of them with retribution. Olbermann nails it again.

Joe Walsh performs on Colbert

I miss this guy's music. Good extended version of "Life's Been Good" with lots of jamming with the band.

Quotes from PresiDunce's Wall Street Journal interview

Actual quotes once again demonstrating that this PresiDunce is not only incompetent and completely unqualified for the job but a complete idiot unqualified for any job.

Colbert on the PresiDunce's racist immigration policy

He calls it what it is, racist, plain and simple. That fact can't hide behind some pleasant sounding title. And ironically, the Dunce himself would not qualify for citizenship under the standards proposed.

Yet another EPA official quits and blames it on the PresiDunce

This is the 3rd one of note in the new Administration. 30-year EPA veteran Elizabeth Southerland quit and wrote a letter about it saying that the current EPA is the "triumph of myth over truth." See the link for more details.

The birth of mansplaining

Men still haven't evolved enough to get this.

Blight House cybersecurity is a joke

Like the rest of this den of dolts. Colbert reports (at 2:15) on how the head of cyber security fell for an obvious (to anyone else not even remotely involved in cyber security) spam email and gave out personal information. And this is especially absurd when the subject header was "suspected spam." Perhaps the Blight House is just so open to Russian manipulation that they thought this was a coded message from Putin?

Colbert on PresiDunce and spawn being liars

It's a habit with these guys, as they are convinced they are invulnerable and above the law. Which will, of course, be their downfall.

Mike Yung on AGT

He moves on to the live show with this stunning performance. And it has indeed been a long time coming.

Keone and Mari on WOD

Even though they lost the divisional final to Les Twins, I thought they did the better performance with this one.

Eva Igo on WOD

She won the divisional final with this performance and goes on to the final next week.

Hartmann: one step closer to impeachment

Continuing this post, Hartmann discusses the possibility that the latest PresiDump lie about writing Don Jr's excuse for the Russia meeting might be a last straw toward impeachment. This especially now that the Biggest Dump is belittling the Congressional GOP, so they might be getting fed up with this Loser.

Qwant, that search engine that doesn't record or track you

Continuing this post on how Google censors your searches, and recent news on how Google also records your voice and search history, consider this search engine that respects your privacy.

PresiDunce and his lawyer lied about Don Jr's statement

His lawyer said The Dump did not write Don Jr's statement about the latter's meeting with Russians. It turns out The Dump in fact dictated that letter. This adds to the obstruction of justice charges that will be leveled against this criminal enterprise. Each day gratefully gets closer to impeachment and jail time for this bunch.

Google's political censorship

This will only get worse with the elimination of net neutrality planned by PresiDunce. In its attempt to curtail 'fake news' Google is now using that excuse to censor progressive news sites with which it might disagree. Just last month the European Commission fined Google $2.7 billion for rigging searches to its own shopping outlet. Now they are rigging searches away from progressive news sites. Following is an excerpt; see the link for far more.

"In the three months since Google implemented the changes to its search engine, fewer people have accessed left-wing and anti-war news sites. Based on information available on Alexa analytics, other sites that have experienced sharp drops in ranking include WikiLeaks, Alternet, Counterpunch, Global Research, Consortium News and Truthout. Even prominent democratic rights groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union and Amnesty International appear to have been hit."

Republican ex-Congressperson: PresiDunce is nuts

Not just stupid but nuts. Robert Reich had an interesting conversation with said Congressperson on what Repugnantans are thinking about the Biggest Dump. It might come down to declaring him incompetent to impeach him. See the conversation for more.

Religion is bullshit

Continuing the last post, this Carlin reminder seems in order.

Many in the Cabinet attend this Bible study class

Oh dear God! We teeter on the very edge of becoming a theocracy with this fake Christianity that hates gays, immigrants and Muslims. And they're running our country? God help us (he said facetiously). No, we need to help ourselves and vote these fake Christians out and vote in progressives, Christian or otherwise.

Ryan contradicts PresiDunce

PresiDunce has continually been trying to taint the special prosecutor looking into his Russian ties, saying for one that he is a partisan hack. Speak of the House Ryan begs to differ.

Diana Pombo vs. Eva Igo

Sneak peek of World of Dance in the division final this Tuesday. Both of these young ladies are powerhouses and I'll hate to see one of them go. This sneak peek though for me has Igo with a slight edge. We'll see.

Yes they did. At a Las Vegas hacker conference they easily broke in US manufactured voting machines revealing their several vulnerabilities. Evangelical fundamentalism and integral catholicism

Good article in La Civiltà Cattolica by Antonio Spadaro and Marcel Figueroa of the Catholic Church. Some excerpts:

"At times this mingling of politics, morals and religion has taken on a Manichaean language that divides reality between absolute Good and absolute Evil. [...] In this Manichaean vision, belligerence can acquire a theological justification and there are pastors who seek a biblical foundation for it, using the scriptural texts out of context."

"In this theological vision, natural disasters, dramatic climate change and the global ecological crisis are not only not perceived as an alarm that should lead them to reconsider their dogmas, but they are seen as the complete opposite: signs that confirm their non-allegorical understanding of the final figures of the Book of Revelation and their apocalyptic hope in a 'new heaven and a new earth.' Theirs is a prophetic formula: fight the threats to American Christian values and prepare for the imminent justice of an Armageddon, a final showdown between Good and Evil, between God and Satan."

PresiDump once again displays his utter ignorance

Not that this is surprising, as the man has absolutely zero concept of how government works. Concerning the wealthcare losses, he Tweeted about the 60-vote filibuster rule when that rule had nothing to do with those votes. As the Senate process was doing it through reconciliation they only needed a 51 vote majority, which they couldn't get from their own Party. So the Big Dump then criticizes the reconciliation process, obviously ignorant about that as well. The Dump is good at something though: He is by far the stupidest Presidunce ever.

Bones Jones regains UFC lightheavyweight title

He knocked out Cormier in the 3rd round. Up to that point 2 of the judges had the fight even, given round 1 to Jones and round 2 to Cormier. The other judge had Jones up 2 rounds. It appeared that before the knockout Jones was leading round 3 decisively, as Cormier appeared to be gassing out. Had it gone 5 rounds it appeared Jones would have won easily by decision. The stats had Jones up 72 to 60 on significant strikes. Fight Metric had Jones up 95 to 60 on total strikes, and leading in the 3rd round 31 to 5 on significant strikes. But no need to speculate, as he knocked out Cormier in the 3rd to regain what was rightfully his.
